Question: Who do I contact if I would like to get several paper copies of a brochure?

Answer: You should submit your request electronically by selecting "Contact Us" located in the menu on the left. Please specify the conference,quantity, and address brochures are to be mailed to.

Question: When should I contact CCME about planning a CME activity?

Answer: The Center for Continuing Medical Education should be contacted during the intitial planning process. CCME will guide the planning committee through the essential areas and elements of planning a CME activity put forth by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.

Question: What is online on-demand?

Answer: Online on demand is archived live webcast programs approved for Category 1 credit. Online on demand allows for users to view a program 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It also allows viewers to communicate via e-mail with the presenters of the program.

Question: What is a live webcast?

Answer: A live webcast is a live Category 1 program that takes place in real time. It also allows viewers to communicate electronically with the presenters during the presentation.

Question: What version of RealOne Player do I need in order to view the programs?

Answer: Viewing our web cast programs require a minimum connection speed of 150K or greater at all times while you are viewing the program and RealOne Player - Helix Powered free version 2.0 or higher.

Question: How do I open an account?

Answer: You can sign up for an account by going to our registration page. Simply fill out the form to start the process.

Question: Why should I register for an account?

Answer: Registering an account allows you to view On-Demand programs, earn Category 1 credit, or register for conferences online.

Question: Are my credit card transactions secure?

Answer: We use the latest encryption technology to keep your credit card transactions safe. Our site uses Verisign, a leader in internet e-commerce, to process orders.

Question: Can I print out documentation that shows what credit I have earned?

Answer: Yes. When you log into the site as a registered user your credit hours are automatically tracked. You can print out certificates for each program you participate in.

Question: When will my certificate be available?

Answer: Once you have taken the test for the respective course, your certificate will be available within 10 business days. If the credits are not visible and a certificate unavailable, please feel free to contact CCME.

Question: What is Internet Point of Care learning?

Answer: According to the American Medical Association, as published in the 2006 revision of The Physician’s Recognition Award and Credit System information packet, “Internet point of care (PoC) CME describes structured, self-directed, online learning by physicians on topics relevant to their clinical practice.” To read more about Internet point of care learning, please go to the American Medical Association website at www.ama-assn.org and look under Home>Resources/Standards >Cont Med Educ (CME).

Question: How may credits can I earn for performing an online search regarding a clinical question?

Answer: Currently, a physician may claim .5 AMA PRA Category 1 credits for documented completion (either at the time of the web search or later) of the three step learning cycle. The three step learning cycle, as defined by the American Medical Association is: 1.Review original clinical question(s). 2.Identify the relevant sources from among those consulted. 3.Describe the application of their findings to practice.

Question: Do I have to document the three step learning cycle at the time that I conduct my web search?

Answer: No. Documentation of your web search and the three step learning cycle can be conducted at the time of the search or at a later time. If you choose to enter the documentation at a later time, please keep track of the resources you consulted and how long the search took. You will need this information to accurately complete the documentation.

Question: Is there a limit to the amount of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit I can claim for Internet point of care learning?

Answer: Currently, the AMA does not have a limit on the number of credits a physician can claim for PoC learning. However, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is limiting the number of PoC credits for their members to 15 per year. Please contact the AAFP or AMA directly if you need clarification regarding the maximum number of credits you may claim per year for PoC learning.

Question: Is Point of Care credit documentation on the Center for Continuing Medical Education’s website open to any physician or just physicians at Ohio State University Medical Center?

Answer: Point of Care credit documentation is open to any physician within the United States who wishes to fulfill some of his/her AMA PRA Category 1 credit requirements through clinical question research on the web.
